The legislation now heads to the House floor. We need Trade Promotion Authority to get good trade agreements that will create a healthier economy, grow jobs, and increase paychecks, said Paulsen. One in five American jobs is tied to trade and those jobs pay higher wages on average. Negotiating new trade agreements with Asia and Europe means selling more American-made goods and services. The Trade Promotion Authority legislation, which passed with bipartisan support, includes important provisions like protections for intellectual property rights, rules for agricultural trade, and measures to combat currency manipulation. Paulsen serves as a member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade and is the co-chair of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Caucus.
