Paulsen highlighted the effects on a local economy when a company is forced to move its headquarters overseas to a country with a more competitive tax structure. Paulsen commented on the hearing, “We need a modern tax code that will grow family paychecks, small businesses, and our economy. Bringing our tax code into the 21st century means keeping companies in the U.S. and attracting others from around the world.
