H.Res.680 celebrates the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion, and the growing community of Hoosier Sikhs dedicated to giving back. The 550th birthday will be celebrated by more than 25,000,000 Sikhs worldwide on November 12, 2019. Indiana is proud to be home to over 10,000 Sikhs that enrich our communities and embody the meaning of Hoosier values, said Congressman Pence. With the upcoming 550th birthday of Guru Nanak, I am proud to stand with our friends in the Sikh community by offering legislation to celebrate this momentous occasion and honor their contributions to Indiana and to our great nation.
