H.R. 2207, introduced by Representative Walorski (IN-02) in April, would lower the cost of life-saving medical devices and create jobs by repealing the 2.3 percent excise tax on medical devices. Pence joined members of the Indiana Republican Delegation in support of a procedural effort to amend H.R. 3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, to include H.R. 2207. Democrats rejected this measure. The medical device industry employs hundreds of thousands of hardworking Americans, including over 20,000 Hoosiers, said Congressman Pence. This is a tax on innovation, competitiveness, patients, and working families. Permanently repealing the medical device tax would boost American manufacturing, encourage research and innovation, protect patients who depend on these products, and support good-paying jobs in Indiana and nationwide.
