Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) has announced the 2020 nomination slate for appointments to the U.S. Military Service Academies. In total, 33 students from the 7th Congressional District received nominations to one or more of the academies.These students represent the best and the brightest of our community, and it's an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to nominate them to serve our country, said Perlmutter. Their dedication to their country and community is inspiring, and I wish them well in all of their future endeavors. The breakdown of 2020 Service Academy Nominations are as follows: United States Air Force Academy: 20 students United States Military Academy: 10 students United States Merchant Marine Academy: 3 students United States Naval Academy: 18 students This year, Perlmutter's office had a record-breaking number of 15 women apply, 14 of whom received nominations. In total, 42 students applied for nominations. Nominated students are from all over the 7th Congressional District, including Lakewood, Golden, Arvada, Brighton, Thornton, Westminster, Broomfield, Northglenn, Littleton, Wheat Ridge, and Commerce City.
