A No Budget, No Pay proposal would withhold Members' pay if Congress failed to pass a budget to fund the federal government. Hardworking Americans wake up every day and work their fingers to the bone to earn their paycheck. They know if they don't show up and do their jobs, they won't be paid. That Congress is not held to this same standard is unacceptable, which is why I've joined with a bipartisan group to hold Members accountable to our constitutional duties. Passing a budget that funds the federal government is a primary role of Congress, yet year after year, it fails to meet the October 1 fiscal deadline. It's time to get serious about controlling our Nation's spending and debt, and getback to building budgets through regular order, said Congressman Perry. Rep. Perry first supported a No Budget, No Pay provision in the first month of his first term in Congress, and has forgone pay during government shutdowns in2013and 2018-2019.
