Pettersen has been working to ensure energy is a top priority in discussions around AI. The report recommends increased federal research to support innovations in algorithmic efficiency and energy infrastructure to meet the demand for energy as AI usage increases. Elections and content authenticity: AI-generated content like images, videos, and audio can affect election information in the United States. The report highlights that the federal government can play a key role in providing local election assistance to support AI readiness through Election Security Grants, helping protect the integrity of the democratic process. Small businesses: Pettersen has been working to address the fact that small businesses and smaller organizations often lack the resources needed to take advantage of AI technology. The report highlights the importance of supporting AI resources such as computing power and AI-ready data sets to help small businesses leverage the potential of AI.
