After signing a multi-billion-dollar tax break for corporations and billionaires, it's disingenuous for President Trump to say our country cannot afford a cost of living increase for federal workers, like the thousands of hardworking women and men employed by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, said Pingree. Congress should ignore the President's attacks on federal workers and press ahead with the modest, bipartisan 1.9% pay increase already approved by Senate Republicans and Democrats. Read Pingree's full letter to Senator McConnell, Leader Schumer, Speaker Ryan, and Leader Pelosi here. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
