CALLWOOD St. Thomas, USVI Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett (USVI), released the following statement mourning the loss of Horace A. Callwood: I was saddened to hear of the loss Horace A. Callwood, who was a thought leader, iconic democrat and honorable member of community. We will miss his advocacy of democratic principles and the restoration of public trust and the value of community. Mr. Callwood was a stalwart example of leadership and activism and profound influence in the Virgin Islands. He brought forth distinction and vigor at his weekly democratic breakfast meetings and proudly promoted incumbent and aspirant candidates for democratic positions and membership in the Democratic Party of the Virgin Islands. Former Senator Callwood was a true democratic advocate and displayed lifelong courage. He was an inspiration to everyone within his reach and will be sorely missed by the entire community. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
