McQuerry November 19, 2020 202-215-8524 PRESSSTATEMENT CONGRESSWOMAN PLASKETT CONGRATULATES 2020V.I. TEACHERS OF THE YEAR AND BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBERS-ELECT DURING AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK WASHINGTON, DC--Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement congratulating the 2020 V.I. Teachers of the Year along with Board of Education Members-Elect during American Education Week: As we celebrate American Education Week this November, I count it a privilege to celebrate public education and recognize the many individuals who have made and continue to make a difference in the lives of our students. I extend hearty congratulations to the 2021 Teachers of the Year for the St. Croix District, Mrs. Alicia Walters-Ramos and the St. Thomas District, Ms. Cristina Marie L. Senosa, as well as the new members-elect of the Virgin Islands Board of Education, Ms. Emmanuella Perez-Cassius, Mr. Angel Bolques, Jr., and Ms. Shawna Richards. Our public education system would not exist without the tireless contributions of our teachers, education support personnel, administrators, and the many individuals who have made it their life's mission to educate and enrich our students. We must honor and support the work of those in the field of education. I continue to remain committed to my work in Washington, securing funding to ensure that public education in the Virgin Islands can improve and that our educators have access to the resources that they need. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
