OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Washington, DC – Congresswoman Plaskett released the following statement regarding a grant totaling $623,046.00 from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) for Frederiksted Health Care, Inc. of the Virgin Islands (FHCVI): “I am very pleased to announce that Frederiksted Health Care, Inc. of the Virgin Islands (FHCVI) was awarded a grant totaling $623,046.00 from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) for Health Center Infrastructure support and assistance. These funds have been allocated to nonprofit agencies like FHCVI to ensure and provide all members our community with access to healthcare. Access to primary medical care, dental, and behavioral healthcare is essential and a basic human right that no one should have to go without. “For our Virgin Islanders to thrive and maintain quality of life regardless of their health status, ability to pay, and insurance, we must ensure that they and their families have access to resources that will enable them to do so.
