Water and Power Authority from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). “I am pleased to announce $189 million in funding for V.I. Water and Power Authority for repairs as a result of Hurricane Maria. This funding was authorized under Section 428 of the Robert T. Stafford Act. Hurricane Maria made landfall throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands, including St. Croix and as a result, the Virgin Island Water and Power Authority suffered damages to their electrical distribution system.
