Far too often, we are reminded of how dangerous the Internet can be for our kids, said Congressman Poliquin. This important grant will give the Maine State Police the resources they need to upgrade their technology to fight crime and keep our kids safe from Online predators. According to the Department of Justice, the National Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program, as established by the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008, consists of State and local law enforcement task forces dedicated to developing effective responses to online enticement of children by Online predators.
