Our good wishes are with our dear friend, Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, and their beautiful family during this difficult time. Emily Clyburn leaves an enduring legacy of service to her home state of South Carolina and to the nation. She and Jim met as civil rights activists, fighting for justice and expanded opportunity. She had a distinguished career as a public school and medical librarian and, with Jim, generously supported the Honors College at South Carolina State University.
