The end of litigation will allow NRG and National Grid to bring the plant back online. “Repowering the NRG plant will bring jobs to Dunkirk, protect local property tax payers, and provide electricity from natural gas,” Reed said. "This is great news for our community and we are glad to see the positive outcome on this project following our collective efforts with Senator Cathy Young, Assemblyman Andy Goodell, and Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan. We have worked tirelessly for the repowering of NRG, including personal meetings with Entergy officials, because we care about local jobs and taxpayers.  It’s only right that we remain committed to working with all the stakeholders on this initiative, including NRG, National Grid, the PSC and local and state officials to see this through to a successful victory.” 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
