We care about the hard working men and women that call our district home. That's why we are fighting so hard to achieve progress on the issues that matter most to them, said Reed. Throughout the Finger Lakes region, Reed cited the accomplishments of bringing the Greenidge Power Plant in Dresden back online reducing the property tax burden for area residents and new funding for a study that looks for ways to reduce flooding in and around the Cayuga Inlet. Reed attended the repowering celebration in Dresden in October. We care about creating quality, family sustaining jobs in our region, meeting the energy needs of families and small businesses and keeping local taxes in check. Reactivating this plant achieves these goals, said Reed. We came together with local, state and federal leaders to get this project off the ground because it was the right thing to do for the hard working men of women of our region. Additionally, Congress passed a bill late this year which authorizes studies aimed at evaluating flooding in certain areas and looking for solutions to reduce this issue. The Cayuga Inlet was included in this proposal. The move is the first step in the federal process for flood control projects. Lastly, Reed touted his offices commitment to accessibility as a major success. We want to make sure that if you have a concern, your voice is heard. We take those concerns to Washington and work every day to bring solutions to these issues. Since coming to office in 2010, Reed's office has completed over 10,000 constituent assistance cases, which help area residents resolve disputes or conflicts with the federal government. In addition, Reed has held over 200 town hall meetings since taking office in 2010.
