Tom Reed announced the NY 23rdwinner of the2019 Congressional App Challengeis Raina Barboza from Olean, NY. Barboza's winning app, calledSimplyUtility,is a basic utility app that contains a variety of tools such as a calculator, a translator, a sketchpad and a chatting feature. Barboza said she created the app at the suggestion of a community member who asked for a simple app that would be fun for a child, but would also help them with different educational tasks. Raina's creativity, thoughtfulness and ingenuity really shine through in this app, said Tom. This is a great achievement, and we are thrilled to announce Raina as our district's winner. The Congressional App Challenge's mission is to inspire, include and innovate efforts around STEM, coding, and computer science education.
