Fixing our broken tax code, one that hasnt been reformed in over 30 years, is vital to the success of our economy and the middle class. I held a tele town hall on Wednesday discussing the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act in length and answered any questions Ohioans had regarding this legislation. Last weekend, I was in-studio with Alex Witt on MSNBC to discuss the future of the tax reform process. Watch the segment here. Washington Wrap Up My staff met with representatives from Johnson C. Smith Universitys foster care initiative regarding my Preparing Homeless Youth for Education and Employment Act. JCSU is dedicated to helping youth aging out of the foster system be successful in higher education. They discussed the barriers to academic success for homeless and foster youth, how my bill aims to address them, and the growing number of members sponsoring this bipartisan legislation. District Doings My district and DC office have been working hard throughout the year making sure my office provides exceptional services for its constituents and that your opinions get heard on issues in Washington. To date, my office has sent 33,877 messages this year alone to constituents regarding their thoughts on issues. I am always appreciative of the input I receive and am thankful to represent such a caring and passionate district of our great nation. Working Women Wednesday Each Wednesday, I like to shed a light on fantastic women and their career accomplishments in our 16th District.
