Rice Statement on U.S. Reclaiming Title of “Most Competitive Economy” | 2018-10-17 | 2018 | 2018-10 | Republican | House | SC | Tom Rice | R000597 | rice.house.gov | legacy | WASHINGTON Congressman Tom Rice (R-S.C.) issued the following statement on the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report, showing that the United States is once again the world's most competitive economy. For too long, we sat by while the global playing field tilted against American workers, forcing businesses to offshore our jobs and shrinking our middle class. But no one did anything about it until President Trump and the unified Republican Congress passed the biggest tax reform overhaul in three decades, eliminated costly regulations, and put our economy back on track " said Congressman Rice. "I am proud to have played a role in our great American comeback. This is the reason I ran for Congress- to restore our competitive edge and create American opportunity for you, your children, and your grandchildren. We're back on top, let's keep it that way." ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
