Richmond Statement on the Fort Hood Helicopter Crash | 2015-11-27 | 2015 | 2015-11 | Democrat | House | LA | Cedric Richmond | R000588 | richmond.house.gov | legacy | Washington DC Today, Rep. Richmond (LA-02) released the following statement after four soldiers were killed in a helicopter crash earlier this week at Fort Hood, Texas, including Army Sgt. 1st Class Jason M. Smith from Destrehan, LA: My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the families of the four soldiers killed in Mondays tragic accident, said Rep. Richmond. The loss of a father, husband, or son is never easy but it is made especially difficult during the time of year when families come together. These four men exemplify the extraordinary sacrifice of our men and women in uniform and this catastrophe makes that much more of a reality. There will be a full investigation to find what caused this disaster so that we can avoid this type of untimely loss in the future. Their admirable dedication to our nation will not be forgotten and their legacies will receive the honor and distinction each of them deserves. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
