You can watch the Congressman's addresshere, and thefull transcript can be found below. Good afternoon, 5th District. Today I would like to reflect on an event of momentous importance that occurred over the weekend and a tremendous victory for the United States of America. As announced by President Trump on Sunday morning, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed during a military raid carried out by special operations forces in northern Syria. I thank God for the success of the mission and that all Americans involved in the operation have returned home. As a veteran who has served in combat zones and on active duty, I have tremendous appreciation for the sacrifices made by our troops and thank God for their safety. The message this operation sends to ISIS and terrorists around the world is that America will never stop in our quest to rid the world of vile terrorists. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was an evil madman who was one of the most brutal leaders of ISIS, whose actions included enslaving women, carrying out gruesome executions, and exporting terroraround the world. His death is a victory for America and our Allies and I commend the special operations and intelligence forces who helped carry out this mission. We will not stop or waver in destroying terrorist leaders wherever they hide. God bless our Special Forces, God Bless our Military, and God Bless the United States of America. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
