In this week's video update, I wanted to tell you we were going to pass the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade agreement that will create 176,000 American jobs and expand Virginia's trade partnerships with Mexico and Canada, but Democrats in Congress are stonewalling the USMCA and dragging the country through a partisan impeachment inquiry. And breaking this morning: Nancy Pelosi has announced the house will draft articles of impeachment after JUST 1 day of hearings in the Judiciary committee. The fact Democrats are taking this step after just 1 hearing shows you how partisan this is and how unserious this is. That they have done this after 1 day in judiciary tells me everything I need to know: Democrats are worried about losing their poll-driven political narrative and have realized the American people want no part of their empty impeachment effort. Democrats have been trying to impeach the President since he was first elected in 2016 and will use any means to do so. The Democrats delivered their verdict regardless of due process or the facts, and now they are rushing a vote for political expedience. This does not even meet the 3 criteria for impeachment that Nancy Pelosi herself laid out: The evidence is not compelling, is not overwhelming, and the votes are anything but bipartisan. In my 11 months in Congress, its become apparent to me that Democrats believe the sole purpose of Congress is to investigate a duly-elected American President.
