I would not be where I am today without investments from private equity and I hope this committee will use this hearing to make American capital markets more competitive rather than hamper the free market with added costs and crushing regulations. Democrats attached several pieces of legislation to the hearing for consideration including the House companion to Senator Elizabeth Warren's bill,H.R. 3848.One study found that in a modest-case scenario,the bill would cost the U.S. approximately 6 million jobs and lead to $109 billion per year in lower tax revenue. Congressman Riggleman went on to question the panel about the impacts of the proposed legislation.
