This week, Congressman Denver Rigglemanand his colleagues on the China Task Force introduced the China Task Force Act. The China Task Force Act consists of over 100 pieces of legislation that will serve as a blueprint for confronting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) malignant behavior and to secure the American economy. TheChina Task Force Act includes several bills that Congressman Riggleman has co-sponsored to addresstheCCP's threat to American security and economic prosperity,and numerous human rights violations. These bills include: "The CCPis an unmistakable threat to human rights, democracy, free trade, andfree press, said Congressman Riggleman. I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of the China TaskForce Act and I am pleased to see that the recommendations of the China Task Force were included in this comprehensive bill. It's time we combat the threats from the CCP's brutal dictatorship and pass legislation that will make America more secure." Background: CongressmanRiggleman joined the China Task Force in May 2020, and was named co-chair of twoof theChina Task Force Pillars: Technology and National Security. The CTF consists of 15 members of Congress, including Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Republican Whip Steve Scalise, and Conference Chair Liz Cheney. In September of this year,Congressman Riggleman joined his CTF colleagues for the unveiling of the group's final report. After months of briefings from over 130 leaders, including policy experts, former and current administration officials, ambassadors and other business executives,the CTF presented a comprehensive overview of their findings. The China Task Force Actis the next step in confronting the CCP's numerous human rights abuses and malign international threats.
