Congressman Riggleman joins a bipartisan majority of over 260 members of Congress in supporting this bill that would protect America's seniors from delays in medical care by streamlining prior authorization under the Medicare Advantage program. "The coronavirus pandemic has amplified theneed to treat high risk seniors in a timely manner, said Congressman Riggleman. In the wake of the pandemic, our healthcare providers and seniors arebeing confronted withthe challenges of postponed medicaltreatment.I am proud to co-sponsor this legislation that will expedite healthcare for our American seniors and improve transparency for healthcare providers and patients alike." The Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act of 2019 would: Establish an electronic prior authorization process that expedites patient care and provides much needed transparency Provide real-time decisions in response to requests for services that are routinely approved by insurance companies Allow physicians to focus on patient care, without the burden of insurance coverage paperwork for procedures that are routinely approved This bill has the supportof over400 national and state patient, physician and healthcare professional organizations, including; the National Association of Social Workers, the Arthritis Foundation, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
