Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) last night voted for H.R. 5931, the Prohibiting Future Ransom Payments to Iran Act, which would prohibit the administration from making future cash payments to Iran.I never thought we would have to pass a bill to prohibit the president of the United States from giving cash payments to the world's leader in state sponsored terrorism, said Davis. But then again, this is just one more in a long line of concessions made by this administration to Iran. This ransom payment has not only put a price tag on every American but it's made it easier for Iran to funnel money to Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations. Last month, it was revealed that the administration had misled the American people about the reason for a $1.7 billion cash payment money that is entirely untraceable to Iran. The payment coincided with the release of five unjustly detained Americans.
