Rodney Davis (R-Ill) today announced that MJM Electric Cooperative in Carlinville was awarded a $2 million loan from the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development's Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program. This loan will be utilized by the Jersey County Rural Water Company (JCRWC) to improve the water infrastructure in the vicinity of the Mid-American International Gateway (MAIG), an intermodal development in Jerseyville. MJM Electric, which is based out of Carlinville, is serving as the intermediary for the loan funds. I'm proud to see organizations from across the region band together and take advantage of federal programs in order to support Jerseyville's intermodal project, Davis said. I look forward to continuing to work with leaders and organizations from the area to ensure that we continue to support jobs and the local economy. The MAIG is a proposed intermodal logistics park of 1,400 acres, which will house warehouse facilities, light manufacturing, and assembly operations. The MAIG is privately funded, and will capitalize on Jerseyville's geographic location and access to the Kansas City Southern Railroad line. f t # e 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
