In a letter sent to President Barack Obama today, three Members of the Republican Study Committee who helped craft the RSC's American Health Care Reform Act requested a meeting to discuss a better way to health care reform. The letter was signed by RSC Chairman Steve Scalise, Congressman Phil Roe and Congressman Marsha Blackburn. The letter comes in response to President Obama's statement earlier this month that the only alternative that Obamacare's critics have is, well, let's just go back to the status quo because they sure haven't presented an alternative. The American Health Care Reform Act currently has 117 cosponsors a number that grows every day, the members write in the letter. Our legislation is anything but the status quo it is a pragmatic, practical, and portable free-market alternative to the current health care system. In addition to the American Health Care Reform Act, Members of the RSC have introduced more than 200 health care related bills this Congress.
