https://roe.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=397944 Roe Named Conferee for No Child Left Behind Rewrite 2015-11-17 2015 2015-11 Republican House TN Phil Roe R000582 roe.house.gov     legacy WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-TN) released the following statement after House Education and Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline named him as a conferee for the conference committee tasked with resolving the differences between the House and Senate versions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act reauthorization: "Last week, I was pleased to see Chairmen Kline and Alexander and Ranking Members Scott and Murray announce the framework for a compromise to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act had been developed. Replacing No Child Left Behind is good for students and their families, as well as for the teachers and administrators who work so hard to provide a quality education to their students. I am also proud that House and Senate leaders are pushing for this compromise to move through regular order, and look forward to working with my House and Senate colleagues from both sides of the aisle to get this done. This is the way Congress is supposed to work for the American people, and I am honored to serve on this important conference committee. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
