Phil Roe (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after House Democrats released articles of impeachment against President Trump: Today I read the articles of impeachment released by House Democrats and my opinion has not changed: President Trump has committed no impeachable offense. Chairmen Schiff and Nadler paraded witnesses through two Congressional committees and failed to uncover any proof or evidence that President Trump committed a crime. Democrats are basing their impeachment efforts on a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, the unredacted transcript of which has been publicly released, which shows no pressure or quid pro quo. Democrats have held numerous closed-door hearings, denied Republicans the right to call additional witnesses, and prevented the president's counsel from cross-examining witnesses as has been the case in our nation's previous impeachment proceedings.
