CEO Mr. Cameron Clayton today in regards to the Weather Channel’s recently-released article and documentary “Toxic Lake.” “While I’m pleased that the Weather Channel is drawing more attention to the struggles surrounding the Lake, I strongly disagree with their one-sided reporting on this complicated and years-long issue,” Rooney said. “Lake Okeechobee has been at the center of environmental struggles for all of south Florida, and while we have made great progress at both the state and federal level to restore the Everglades, more needs to be done.
