https://rosen.house.gov/media/press-releases/new-report-republican-tax-bill-could-increase-number-uninsured-nv-03-31000 NEW REPORT: REPUBLICAN TAX BILL COULD INCREASE THE NUMBER OF UNINSURED IN NV-03 BY 31,000 2017-12-08 2017 2017-12 Democrat House NV Jacky Rosen R000608 rosen.house.gov     legacy WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in response to a new report on Republicans’ partisan tax bill passed by the Senate. A new analysis from the Center for American Progress found that the tax bill’s provision dismantling the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance coverage requirement could lead to 31,000 constituents in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District becoming uninsured. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office also estimates that the GOP tax plan could increase health care premiums by an average of 10 percent annually in the individual market and lead to 13 million Americans becoming uninsured nationwide. “The Republicans’ tax plan is really just another attempt to undermine and repeal key components of the Affordable Care Act, which will lead to higher health care premiums and leave tens of thousands of Nevadans in my district without health insurance,” said Rosen. “The Senate tax bill also could trigger devastating cuts to Medicare and reduce Medicaid enrollment. Instead of working to deliver a fairer tax code for working families, Republicans are using this bill to try to follow through on a partisan, ideological agenda that will further destabilize our health care system and increase costs for regular people. It’s wrong for Republican leadership to use this attack on the ACA’s coverage requirement to pay for tax cuts for wealthy donors and large corporations.” BACKGROUND: This new analysis by the Center for American Progress finds that, under the Senate bill, many healthy Americans who use the marketplaces likely will stop purchasing insurance, which could drive up premiums, forcing some people to drop their coverage altogether. At the same time, unraveling the individual mandate could also result in a number of people currently enrolled in employer-sponsored plans and Medicaid to go uninsured. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
