Representative Peter Roskam (IL-06) co-sponsored this legislation. Regarding the passage of H.R. 1164, Rep. Roskam released the following statement: “I applaud today’s passage of the Taylor Force Act which would restrict funding to the Palestinian Authority (PA) if it continues to incentivize terrorism by paying salaries to those arrested for killing and maiming innocent people. In 2016, PA payments to terrorists and their families reached $315 million dollars, nearly 10 percent of the PA budget. The family of Bashar Masalha, who brutally killed U.S. Army veteran Taylor Force last year, is among the recipients of these payments.
