https://ross.house.gov/2025/9/congresswoman-ross-statement-on-republican-leadership-rejecting-camp-lejeune-amendment-to-ndaa Congresswoman Ross Statement on Republican Leadership Rejecting Camp Lejeune Amendment to NDAA 2025-09-10 2025 2025-09 Democrat House NC Deborah K. Ross R000305 ross.house.gov ross https://ross.house.gov/press-releases scraper Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on the House Republican leadership refusing to allow consideration of her bipartisan Camp Lejeune amendment in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). In this week’s House Rules Committee meeting, Republican leadership did not make in order her bipartisan amendment with Representatives Greg Murphy (NC-03), Richard Hudson (NC-09), and Don Davis (NC-01) to make technical changes to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, which would ensure veterans’ claims are given fair and reasonable judicial review. Despite the bipartisan agreement on this amendment, Republicans have refused to allow it to move to the House Floor for a vote as part of the NDAA. “Speaker Johnson has refused bipartisanship at every juncture this Congress,” said Congresswoman Ross. “Camp Lejeune veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country and should not have to wait a second longer to access the justice they deserve. It’s shameful that the Republican leadership blocked an opportunity for bipartisan compromise to support the brave men and women who have served in uniform. We will not stop pursuing every possible path to get this across the finish line.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:10:29Z
