(WJAC) The 22nd annual Veterans Day parade and flag-raising ceremony was held in downtown Johnstown on Monday night. This year, the theme was the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The parade salutes all veterans from every war. High school bands from across the area performed, marching with veterans organizations, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, American Legion posts and Scouts. There were also many active-duty military members, both in the parade and on the sidewalk watching it. Notable guests included the Cambria County commissioners, Johnstown Mayor Frank Janakovic and outgoing U.S. Rep. Keith Rothfus. Retired Air Force Col. Karen Esaias, the emcee of the parade, said there was no shortage of flags or patriotism. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
