President Obama on Wednesday signed into law the fiscal 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which authorizes defense spending and programs and includes Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] provision to prohibit any further Apache transfers out of the National Guard beyond those previously announced by the Army until Congress has the opportunity to review the recommendations of the National Commission on the Future of the Army. Congressman Rothfus released the following statement: After unnecessary delays and a reckless Presidential veto, the men and women of our military will now finally have the funding and resources they need to fulfill their duties, support their families, and protect the safety and security of our nation. Providing certainty and stability to our military should be a nonnegotiable priority for Congress and the President, said Congressman Rothfus. This critical legislation also contained my amendment to prohibit any further Apache transfers out of the National Guard until the National Commission on the Future of the Army can make its recommendations to Congress.
