Res. 878 on Friday. Today, I voted against H. Res. 878 to expel George Santos from Congress. While the allegations — and evidence of those allegations — regarding Representative Santos are certainly concerning, his guilt has yet to be determined in a court of law. Jumping to our own conclusions, ahead of the branch of government to which this matter rightly belongs at this time, could have serious consequences. Indeed, the only two Members of the House that have been expelled for criminal activity were expelled only after they were convicted.
