The first place winners are Mr. Keshav Singh, Mr. Ty Fonseca, and Mr. Luke Ringlein of Comal County, Texas, with their app, “American Dynamism”. All three students are high school seniors at Hill Country College Preparatory High School of Comal ISD. “American Dynamism” measures progress of the United States in critical sectors such as defense technology and workforce innovation by scanning RSS news feeds and classifying articles. “In order to make sure American safety and prosperity remains secure, we need to encourage innovation, whether from builders in their garage or defense giants like Lockheed. The good news: that movement is already underway. It's called ‘American Dynamism,’” stated the app’s creators. Congressman Roy recognizes the timeliness of this app’s release with the comeback of our national industries. The students further noted, “For the first time in decades, start-ups are once again winning defense contracts, small innovators are making an impact and people are excited to contribute to the national interest.” The second-place winner of the TX-21 Congressional App Challenge is Ms. Surina Mitra with her app titled “Cureosity.” She is a sophomore student at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio. Ms. Mitra explains,“My app, Cureosity, helps elderly cancer patients by breaking down complex medical topics into clear, easy-to-understand summaries written at a middle-school reading level.
