The grant will allow the city to plan for improved pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, while preserving local housing affordability and assisting local small businesses. The city’s planning efforts will involve key partners, including Valley Metro, the Maricopa Association of Governments, and local housing and economic development organizations. Rep. Gallego released the following statement: “Thanks to this new funding, Phoenix residents will soon have safer ways to walk or bike to work and school.
