https://russell.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/congressman-russell-remembers-pearl-harbor Congressman Russell Remembers Pearl Harbor 2015-12-07 2015 2015-12 Republican House OK Steve Russell R000604 russell.house.gov     legacy Washington, D.C. Today, Congressman Steve Russell (OK-5) offered this statement, in remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor, on December 7, 1941: Seventy-four years ago, President Roosevelt declared this day would be a day that will live in infamy. As we remember the more than 2000 brave souls who lost their lives, and all those who valiantly fought and survived the Japanese onslaught, we must also take up their determination as we fight the war on terror. The attack on Pearl Harbor came out of the blue, and it took us by surprise, but today's foe is right before us. The "Greatest Generation" responded to the call, united as a country against a vicious and brutal enemy and fought until victorious no matter how long it would take. We should learn from their example and stand united as a country until we defeat the radical Islamic, jihadi, death-cult ideology that seeks to destroy our way of life. Remember Pearl Harbor. Remember 9/11. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
