Steve Russell (OK-5) today introduced the Georgian Fair Business Practices Sanctions Act of 2017 (H.R. 4563). This legislation is a response to several examples of the Government of Georgia violating contracts with U.S. entities and our allies, often after significant investment of time, energy, and capital by U.S. individuals and entities. The Georgian Fair Business Practices Sanctions Act of 2017 would commission a semiannual report that determines whether or not the Government of Georgia is undermining commitments or contractual agreements made with U.S. persons, and identifies individuals responsible. Those individuals and the Government of Georgia would then be subject to U.S. sanctions. I will stand with the Georgian people in their fight against corrupt business practices within their government. said Rep. Russell.
