Steve Russell, Oklahoma Delegation Meet with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue | 2018-10-31 | 2018 | 2018-10 | Republican | House | OK | Steve Russell | R000604 | russell.house.gov | legacy | Oklahoma City, OK U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue met with members of the Oklahoma congressional delegation in Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Our farmers, producers and cattlemen promote a safe and healthy food supply in Oklahoma, Russell said. Not only do they feed our country but they also provide thousands of jobs to keep our economy strong. Oklahoma ranks fourth in the country for wheat production and fifth nationwide in beef and cattle production. The state had over 77,000 farms in 2017, which generated $6.2 billion in revenue. Perdue and members of the delegation, including Rep. Steve Russell (R-OK) toured the Oklahoma National Stockyards Company and met with students from the Future Farmers of America and 4-H Club. Sec. Perdue is perhaps the most qualified agricultural secretary our nation has had and it was wonderful to meet with him today, Russell said. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
