"Included in this bipartisan agreement is continued support for NAS Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, JAXPORT, and the Port of Fernandina. It also strengthens veteran care and suicide prevention throughout the First Coast, continues the fight against diseases like Alzheimer's, and safeguards our kids in schools through continued funding of my STOP School Violence Act of 2018. Important to our coastal communities, this bill also extends authorization for the National Flood Insurance Program. Major wins for Northeast Florida: $32.4 million for NAS Jacksonville's Targeting and Surveillance System Support Facility. $18.7 million for a new police station at Blount Island Command. $1.5 million to improve data collection for stock assessments of red snapper in the South Atlantic, which may lead to longer red snapper seasons. $125 million for Rutherford's STOP School Violence Act. $225 million for the Port Infrastructure Development Program to invest in growing our nation's seaports, including JAXPORT and Port of Fernandina $9.8 million for the Department of Transportation Short Sea Transportation Program (Marine Highways), which benefits the Port of Fernandina. $210 million increase in Air Force procurement for Light Attack aircraft. Nine P-8A Poseidon, including an additional $541.2 million for 3 P-8As to replace aircraft for NAS Jacksonville's VP-62. $346.5 million for two additional E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes, which are manufactured in St. Augustine. 98 new F-35s for the Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy. $2.8 billion for Alzheimer's research at the National Institute on Aging. $41.7 billion for the National Institutes of Health, which funds research for cures to rare diseases and cancers. $222 million for VA Suicide Prevention Outreach programs.
