| https://sablan.house.gov/addressing-nursing-shortage | Addressing the nursing shortage | 2019-11-04 | 2019 | 2019-11 | Democrat | House | MP | Gregorio Sablan | S001177 | sablan.house.gov | legacy | Addressing the nursing shortage Nov 3, 2019 The House passed H.R. 728, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2019. I am a cosponsor ofH.R. 728 which would help address the nursing shortage experienced throughout the country, especially in the Northern Marianas. As of July 2019, The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation employs 146 registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, 20 less than they should have. Title VIII programs such as the Nurse Corps Scholarship and Loan Repayment Program, are designed to improve healthcare access in designated medically underserved areas like the Marianas. Bolstering nursing education at all levels and providing direct support to institutions that educate nurses for practice in rural and underserved communities is just what is needed. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
