https://sablan.house.gov/aid-nmi-students-protected Aid for NMI students protected 2019-12-09 2019 2019-12 Democrat House MP Gregorio Sablan S001177 sablan.house.gov     legacy Aid for NMI students protected Dec 9, 2019 Marianas students enrolled in online programs at the University of Phoenix will no longer be at risk of being ineligible for federal financial aid. The news follows your congressional office's work to confirm with the U.S. Department of Education that the CNMI is in compliance with federal regulations requiring a complaint process for residents enrolled in online programs based outside the Commonwealth. Last month, a constituent forwarded to the congressional office a letter from the University of Phoenix, denying the constituent federal financial aid because the school believed the CNMI did not have a compliant process and was therefore prohibited from processing financial aid for Marianas students. Affected students should contact the University of Phoenix to confirm their financial aid status. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
