That was the point of the letter I sent, along with 52 of my Democratic colleagues, to FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor. His agency issued an interim rule, effective September 15, saying FEMA no longer classifies disinfection of classroom, temperature scanners, masks, and similar gear as emergency protective measures and will not reimburse schools for these expenses.
