https://sablan.house.gov/keeping-h-2b-cap-exemption Keeping the H-2B cap exemption 2017-10-23 2017 2017-10 Democrat House MP Gregorio Sablan S001177 sablan.house.gov     legacy Keeping the H-2B cap exemption Oct 22, 2017 Exemption from the national cap on the number of H-2B visas for temporary workers is a key part of the strategy to ensure a sufficient labor force in the Marianas. We have been working for some months to make sure that an apparent drafting error in the Senate National Defense Authorization Act for 2018 that would remove the exemption is corrected. The House bill does not have this defect. As the House and Senate conference committee on the Defense Act moves into high gear, I put my concern in writing for the record; and we will continue to make sure that no change in current law exempting the Marianas from the H-2B cap is inadvertently enacted. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
