https://sablan.house.gov/prevailing-wage-study-now-use Prevailing wage study now in use 2017-11-12 2017 2017-11 Democrat House MP Gregorio Sablan S001177 sablan.house.gov     legacy Prevailing wage study now in use Nov 12, 2017 The Commonwealth’s 2016 Prevailing Wage and Workforce Study is now in use by the U.S. Department of Labor for making prevailing wage determinations for H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and H-2B visas, or permanent labor certification programs. I received confirmation of this in a letter today from Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor Nancy M. Rooney. Prevailing wage certifications are required to ensure that foreign workers entering under these visa categories are not competing unfairly with U.S. workers or driving down wages by working for less than is generally paid for a particular job in a particular geographic location. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
