| https://sablan.house.gov/pua-fpuc-backlog-increases | PUA, FPUC backlog increases | 2020-09-09 | 2020 | 2020-09 | Democrat | House | MP | Gregorio Sablan | S001177 | sablan.house.gov | legacy | PUA, FPUC backlog increases Sep 9, 2020 The U.S. Department of Labor reports that nearly 13,000 people in the Marianas have applied for federal unemployment assistance. Less than half have received this desperately-needed help. The backlog for unemployment assistance increased in August by 2,403. According to the U.S. Department of Labor there were 7,133 unprocessed applications at the end of the month, more than the July backlog. Congress provided $1,770,584 to hire processing staff, set up a website, and otherwise assure that Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation quickly got to those in need. But the Commonwealth leadership continues to fall farther behind. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
