But the Trump administration is refusing to allow the Marianas and other insular areas to issue retroactive aid to families to cover last school year. So, in my capacity as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, along with Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott, I wrote the U.S. Department of Agriculture requesting they reverse its unconscionable decision to block food assistance funding.
